POSH Committee

St. Xavier’s World School is committed to providing a safe, secure, and dignified environment for all its employees, students, parents, and stakeholders. In accordance with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, the school has constituted a POSH Committee to prevent, prohibit, and redress any instances of sexual harassment within the school premises.

The school maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards sexual harassment and ensures that all complaints are addressed promptly, sensitively, and confidentially.

Scope of the Policy

The POSH policy applies to:

  • Visitors, vendors, and service providers
  • Any workplace-related activity, event, or programme conducted by the school

Role and Responsibilities of the POSH Committee

  • Receive and acknowledge complaints of sexual harassment
  • Conduct inquiries in a fair, impartial, and time-bound manner
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all proceedings
  • Recommend appropriate corrective or disciplinary action
  • Promote awareness through workshops and orientation programmes
  • Ensure protection against victimization or retaliation

Complaint Redressal Mechanism

  • Complaints may be submitted in writing to the POSH Committee
  • The committee ensures a sensitive and confidential hearing
  • All cases are handled as per the guidelines of the POSH Act, 2013
  • Necessary action is taken after due inquiry and documentation
